Frequently Asked Questions
Depending on the local environment, basic maintenance, and the correct installation technique, COLORBOND® guttering can typically last between 25 and 30 years, or longer. It is a durable, robust, and stylish guttering system for both metal and non-metal roofs.
No matter what material they are made from, downpipes must be periodically checked and cleaned to prevent blockages from debris, such as leaf litter, insects, and dirt. Moreover, keeping gutters clean will subsequently help keep downpipes clear.
Downpipes, like gutters and flashings, must be compatible with all “upstream” roofing materials per the Australian National Construction Code. You’ll need to consider not only the aesthetic result you’re looking to achieve in terms of material, colour, shape, etc, but also factors such as rainfall volume and debris volume for our property (e.g. leaf litter falling onto your rooftop).
