Frequently Asked Questions
This product is perfect for long runs or large roofs. These are metal roofs that use a single large sheet (or a small number of large sheets) of custom-designed metal for each slope of the rooftop, as opposed to many overlapping smaller sheets. The benefits this delivers include a much longer lifespan, the ability to withstand extreme weather conditions, and a resulting roof that is impervious to water leakage that it would otherwise be vulnerable to at the seams.
Roofmart also supplies LOKSEAL™ – a joining and sealing system for Trimclad® roofing, which is a cost-effective and easy to install option for long length roof spans.
Metlok 700® features a raised rib profile that arises from flat pans for the effect of bold, straight lines on the roof.
A superior long-run metal roof made from Metlok 700® can last up to between 40 and 70 years if installed according to specifications and appropriately for its climate (including cyclonic conditions).
COLORBOND® Steel is backed by the Bluescope Steel Warranty for 15 to 36 years. Exact coverage varies by location, product type and other factors. See here for more information.
ZINCALUME® steel is silver-coloured, and features a protective aluminium-zinc-silicon alloy coating. It can be painted.
COLORBOND® is pre-painted ZINCALUME® available in a wide array of colours.
You’ll need to calculate your roof’s total area (via measurement – tip: sketch the roof, break it into smaller sections, measure and add these up), determine the area of each of your chosen roofing sheets, and divide the entire roof area by the area of a single sheet. Round up and add a 10% allowance for overlap/wastage/error.
ZINCALUME® corrugated roofing comes in a standard grey colour; this sheeting can be painted. COLORBOND® corrugated roofing is available in 22 steel core classic and contemporary colours. There are also 6 colours available in a premium matt finish.
